PcVue Networking Feature Denial-of-Service Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A denial-of-service vulnerability has been identified in the Networking server component of PcVue. This issue arises because the server does not properly validate the sequence of received packets, allowing an attacker to send specially crafted messages that can disrupt the application's operation and cause it to stop functioning.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability leads to a denial-of-service condition, causing the application to become unresponsive or to crash.

Remediation

This vulnerability has been fixed in PcVue versions 12.0.31, 15.2.12, and 16.3.1.
