- < 2.7.0
A cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Jeg Kit for Elementor WordPress plugin, affecting versions prior to 2.7.0. The issue arises because the plugin does not properly sanitize the contents of SVG files when they are uploaded via xmlrpc.php.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the content.
To reproduce this vulnerability, an author-level user can upload an SVG file containing malicious JavaScript via the WordPress XML-RPC interface. After the file is uploaded, accessing it through the web server will trigger the execution of the embedded script, demonstrating the cross-site scripting vulnerability.
Users are advised to update the Jeg Kit for Elementor WordPress plugin to version 2.7.0 or later.
