A reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in Mtons Mblog versions through 3.5.0. The issue arises in the admin role list management, where the user-controlled 'name' parameter is not properly sanitized before being displayed. This lack of encoding allows for the injection of malicious scripts, which could be executed in the context of the user's browser.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for reflected cross-site scripting, where an attacker can inject malicious scripts that are executed in the context of the user's browser session.
To reproduce this vulnerability, access the '/admin/role/list' endpoint while logged into the admin panel. Use the search function and input a name parameter that includes a script injection, such as an image tag with an 'onerror' event. The injected script will be executed, demonstrating the cross-site scripting vulnerability.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
