itsourcecode Apartment Management System SQL Injection Vulnerability in Rented Info Report

Vulnerability

A SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in the itsourcecode Apartment Management System version 1.0. The issue arises in the file '/report/rented_info.php', where the 'rsid' parameter is manipulated, allowing attackers to inject malicious SQL queries. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely, without any authentication.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows unauthorized access to the database, where attackers can leak, modify, or delete data. Additionally, it could lead to unauthorized control over the system or cause a service interruption.

Reproduction

The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a crafted HTTP request to 'report/rented_info.php' with the 'rsid' parameter. The injection can be verified using payloads that exploit boolean-based blind SQL injection or time-based blind SQL injection techniques. Tools like sqlmap can automate this process and demonstrate the vulnerability.

Remediation

It is recommended to use prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection, validate and filter user input, minimize database user permissions, and conduct regular security audits.
