Campcodes Online Loan Management System SQL Injection Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in Campcodes Online Loan Management System version 1.0. The issue arises in the file '/ajax.php?action=save_payment', where the 'loan_id' parameter is manipulated, allowing attackers to inject malicious SQL queries. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely, without any authentication.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows unauthorized access to the database, where attackers can modify or delete data, access sensitive information, and potentially disrupt services.

Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, send a POST request to '/Loan_Management_System/ajax.php?action=save_payment' with the 'loan_id' parameter. The request can include a time-based blind SQL injection payload, such as one that uses a SQL injection technique to make the database wait for a few seconds before responding, indicating that the injection was successful.

Remediation

It is recommended to use prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection, validate and filter user input, minimize database user permissions, and conduct regular security audits.
