Welcart e-Commerce Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Welcart e-Commerce plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 2.11.20. The issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, allowing authenticated attackers with editor-level permissions or higher to inject arbitrary scripts. These scripts are executed when users access the affected pages. This vulnerability is present in multi-site installations where unfiltered_html has been disabled.

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Remediation

Users can update to Welcart e-Commerce version 2.11.21 or later to address this vulnerability.
