ELEX WordPress HelpDesk and Customer Ticketing System Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the ELEX WordPress HelpDesk & Customer Ticketing System plugin, affecting all versions through 3.3.4. The issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, allowing unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts into ticket subjects. These scripts are executed when users access the affected pages.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the plugin to version 3.3.5 or a newer patched version.
