Media Player Addons for Elementor Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Media Player Addons for Elementor plugin for WordPress, affecting version 1.0.5. The issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes, specifically the 'subtitle_ssize', 'track_title', and 'track_artist_name' parameters. This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages, which are executed when users access the affected pages.

Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, an authenticated user with contributor-level access or higher can inject scripts through the 'subtitle_ssize', 'track_title', and 'track_artist_name' parameters in the Media Player Addons for Elementor plugin, version 1.0.5. The injected scripts will be executed when the page is viewed by any user.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the Media Player Addons for Elementor plugin to version 1.0.6 or a newer patched version.
