A SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in version 1.0 of the itsourcecode Online Tour and Travel Management System. The issue resides in the '/user/forget_password.php' file, where insufficient validation of the 'email' parameter allows attackers to inject malicious SQL queries. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely, without any authentication, potentially leading to unauthorized database access, data manipulation, and exposure of sensitive information.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for SQL injection, which could be used to access, modify, or delete database information. Such actions could disrupt service and compromise system security.
The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a POST request to '/user/forget_password.php' with an injected SQL payload in the 'email' parameter. Several types of SQL injection payloads can be used, including boolean-based blind, error-based, time-based blind, and stacked queries.
It is recommended to use prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection, validate and filter user input, minimize database user permissions, and conduct regular security audits.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
