A SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in SourceCodester COVID-19 Testing Management System version 1.0. The issue resides in the file '/test-details.php', where the 'MULTIPART remark' parameter is not properly validated, allowing attackers to inject malicious SQL queries. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely, without any authentication.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows unauthorized access to the database, where attackers can manipulate or delete data, access sensitive information, and potentially disrupt services.
To reproduce this vulnerability, send a POST request to '/test-details.php' with the 'MULTIPART remark' parameter. Include a payload that exploits time-based blind SQL injection, such as one that uses the SQL 'SLEEP' function to introduce a delay in the response. This can be done using tools like 'sqlmap'.
It is recommended to use prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection, validate and filter user input, minimize database user permissions, and conduct regular security audits.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
