A critical SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in version 1.0 of the itsourcecode Online Tour and Travel Management System. The issue resides in the file '/admin/operations/travellers.php', where insufficient input validation of the 'MULTIPART val-username' parameter allows attackers to inject malicious SQL queries. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely, without any authentication, potentially leading to unauthorized database access, data modification or deletion, and exposure of sensitive information.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for SQL injection, enabling attackers to manipulate database queries. This could result in unauthorized access to database information, modification or deletion of data, and in some cases, execution of administrative operations on the database.
The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a POST request to '/admin/operations/travellers.php' with a crafted 'val-username' parameter that includes malicious SQL payloads. This can be done using tools like sqlmap, which automates the process of finding and exploiting SQL injection vulnerabilities.
It is recommended to use prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection, validate and filter user input, minimize database user permissions, and conduct regular security audits.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
