User Profile Builder Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the User Profile Builder WordPress plugin, specifically in versions through 3.14.3. The issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, allowing authenticated attackers with Subscriber-level access or higher to inject arbitrary scripts. This vulnerability is only exploitable when the GDPR Communication Preferences module is active and at least one related field is included in the profile edit form.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed when users access the affected pages.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the User Profile Builder plugin to version 3.14.4 or later.
