Gutenberg Blocks – PublishPress Blocks Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Gutenberg Blocks – PublishPress Blocks plugin for WordPress, affecting versions through 3.3.4. The issue arises in the Maps block, where insufficient input sanitization and output escaping allow authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts. These scripts execute when a user accesses the affected page.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the Gutenberg Blocks – PublishPress Blocks plugin to version 3.4.0 or a newer patched version.
