atjiu pybbs
- <= 6.0.0
A reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in atjiu pybbs versions up to 6.0.0. The issue arises in the admin topic management interface, specifically within the topic list endpoint. User-controlled input, particularly the username parameter, is not properly sanitized before being displayed, allowing for the injection of malicious scripts. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely and targets administrative users.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for reflected cross-site scripting, where an attacker can inject malicious scripts that are executed in the context of the user's browser.
To reproduce this vulnerability, send a request to the '/admin/topic/list' endpoint with a crafted username parameter that includes JavaScript payloads, such as an image tag with an 'onerror' event. This will trigger the cross-site scripting vulnerability by executing the injected script in the user's browser.
Users are advised to update to the patched version of atjiu pybbs, which is available on the project's GitHub repository.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
