A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Team Members plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 5.3.5. The issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping in the first and last name fields. This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary scripts that execute when users view the affected pages.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.
To reproduce this vulnerability, an authenticated user with Contributor-level access or higher can enter a script into the first or last name fields of the Team Members plugin. Once saved, the script will execute when the page is viewed.
Users are advised to update the Team Members plugin to version 5.3.6 or later.
