Campcodes Online Recruitment Management System SQL Injection Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A critical SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in Campcodes Online Recruitment Management System version 1.0. The issue arises in the file '/admin/ajax.php?action=delete_recruitment_status', where insufficient validation of the 'id' parameter allows attackers to inject malicious SQL queries. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely, without any authentication.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows unauthorized access to the database, where attackers can leak, modify, or delete data. Additionally, this could lead to unauthorized control over the system or cause a disruption of services.

Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, send a POST request to '/Recruitment/admin/ajax.php?action=delete_recruitment_status' with an 'id' parameter that includes a crafted SQL payload. This can be done using tools like sqlmap, which automates the process of finding and exploiting SQL injection vulnerabilities.

Remediation

It is recommended to use prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection, validate and filter user input, minimize database user permissions, and conduct regular security audits.
