A critical SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in Code-Projects Exam Form Submission version 1.0. The issue resides in the file '/admin/update_s8.php', where the 'credits' parameter is manipulated, allowing attackers to inject malicious SQL queries. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely, without any authentication, potentially leading to unauthorized database access, data modification or deletion, and exposure of sensitive information.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for SQL injection, enabling attackers to manipulate database queries. This could result in unauthorized data access, data leakage, data modification or deletion, and in some cases, executing administrative operations on the database.
The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a POST request to '/admin/update_s8.php' with the 'credits' parameter. The injection payload can include SQL injection techniques, such as time-based blind SQL injection, where the injected SQL query is crafted to use database functions that introduce a delay, indicating successful injection.
It is recommended to use prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection. Additionally, input validation and filtering should be implemented to ensure user input conforms to expected formats. Minimizing database user permissions and conducting regular security audits are also advisable.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
