A critical SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in Code-Projects Exam Form Submission version 1.0. The issue resides in the file '/admin/update_s1.php', where the 'credits' parameter is manipulated, allowing attackers to inject malicious SQL queries. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely, without any authentication.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for unauthorized database access, manipulation of data, and potential disruption of services.
The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a POST request to '/admin/update_s1.php' with a crafted 'credits' parameter that includes malicious SQL payloads. This injection takes advantage of time-based blind SQL injection techniques, such as using 'SLEEP' commands to demonstrate the injection's effectiveness.
It is recommended to use prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection, validate and filter user input, minimize database user permissions, and conduct regular security audits.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
