Marquee Addons WordPress Plugin Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Marquee Addons plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions up to and including 2.4.3. The issue arises in the Testimonial Marquee widget, where inadequate input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes allow authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts. These scripts are executed when a user accesses the affected page.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the Marquee Addons plugin to version 3.0.0 or later, where this vulnerability has been patched.
