Drupal Block Attributes Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability
Vulnerability
A cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability has been identified in the Drupal Block Attributes module, affecting versions prior to 1.1.0 and 2.0.0 through 2.0.1. The issue arises from improper validation of user-defined attributes for blocks, allowing the insertion of JavaScript event attributes that can execute scripts when the page is rendered.
Impact
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for cross-site scripting, where an attacker can inject malicious scripts that are executed in the context of the user's browser.
Remediation
Users of the Block Attributes module for Drupal should upgrade to version 8.x-1.1 or 2.0.1.
