Tenda AC500 Stack-Based Buffer Overflow Vulnerability in the AP Configuration Function

Vulnerability

A critical stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in the Tenda AC500 router running version 2.0.1.9(1307). The issue arises in the 'formSetAPCfg' function within the '/goform/setWtpData' file, where the 'radio_2g_1' parameter can be manipulated, leading to a stack-based overflow. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely, and a public exploit is available.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability leads to a stack-based buffer overflow, which can commonly result in arbitrary code execution or causing the device to crash.

Reproduction

The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a crafted request to the '/goform/setWtpData' endpoint, manipulating the 'radio_2g_1' parameter to trigger the buffer overflow.
