A critical stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in the Tenda FH1201 router, specifically in version 1.2.0.14(408). The issue arises in the 'fromGstDhcpSetSer' function within the '/goform/GstDhcpSetSer' file, where the 'dips' parameter can be manipulated, leading to memory corruption. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely, and a public proof-of-concept exploit is available.
Exploitation of this vulnerability causes a stack-based buffer overflow, which can lead to arbitrary code execution or other malicious actions by overwriting the return address on the stack.
The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a crafted request to the '/goform/GstDhcpSetSer' endpoint, manipulating the 'dips' parameter to trigger the buffer overflow. This can be done remotely, taking advantage of the stack-based nature of the overflow.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
