Tenda AC1206 Stack-Based Buffer Overflow Vulnerability in MAC Filter Configuration

Vulnerability

A critical stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in the Tenda AC1206 router running version 15.03.06.23. The issue arises in the 'formSetMacFilterCfg' function within the '/goform/setMacFilterCfg' file, where the 'deviceList' parameter can be manipulated, leading to memory corruption. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely, and a public exploit is available.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability causes a stack-based buffer overflow, which can lead to arbitrary code execution or a denial-of-service condition.

Reproduction

The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a crafted request to the '/goform/setMacFilterCfg' endpoint, manipulating the 'deviceList' parameter to exceed the buffer capacity, thereby causing a stack-based overflow.
