Exclusive Addons for Elementor Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Exclusive Addons for Elementor plugin for WordPress. This issue affects all versions through 2.7.9.4 and arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping in the Countdown Widget. The vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages, which are executed when users access the affected pages.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, an authenticated user with Contributor-level access or higher can inject scripts via the Countdown Widget. The injected scripts will be executed when the page is viewed by users.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the Exclusive Addons for Elementor plugin to version 2.7.9.5 or a newer patched version.
