A critical SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in PHPGurukul Vehicle Parking Management System version 1.13. The issue resides in the file '/admin/manage-outgoingvehicle.php', where the 'del' parameter is manipulated to inject malicious SQL code. This exploitation occurs without proper input validation or sanitization, allowing attackers to interfere with SQL queries and execute unauthorized database operations. The vulnerability can be exploited remotely, and a public proof-of-concept exploit is available.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows attackers to inject malicious SQL queries, potentially leading to unauthorized database access, data manipulation or deletion, and execution of administrative operations on the database. This could result in a complete compromise of the application and its data.
The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a GET request to '/admin/manage-outgoingvehicle.php' with the 'del' parameter. The injected payload should be crafted to exploit the time-based blind SQL injection vulnerability, such as using a payload that causes a delay in the response, indicating successful injection.
It is recommended to use prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection. Additionally, input validation and filtering should be implemented to ensure that user input conforms to expected formats. Finally, database user permissions should be minimized to the least privilege necessary.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
