Use-Your-Drive Google Drive Plugin for WordPress Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Use-your-Drive | Google Drive plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 3.3.1. The issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, allowing attackers to inject arbitrary scripts into pages. These scripts execute when a user accesses the compromised page. The vulnerability can be exploited by any user with file upload privileges, including unauthenticated users, once a file upload shortcode is active on a public post.

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the plugin to version 3.3.2 or a newer patched version.
