Contact Form 7 Database Addon Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Contact Form 7 Database Addon plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 1.3.1. The issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, allowing unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary scripts that execute when users access the compromised pages.

Impact

Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, an unauthenticated user can submit a form using the Contact Form 7 Database Addon plugin, including a payload in the 'tmpD' parameter. The injected script will then execute when the page is accessed by a user.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the Contact Form 7 Database Addon plugin to version 1.3.2 or later.
