ITSourcecode COVID Tracking System SQL Injection Vulnerability in Admin Zone Page
Vulnerability
A SQL injection vulnerability exists in ITSourcecode COVID Tracking System Using QR-Code version 1.0, specifically within the admin zone page. This vulnerability allows attackers to inject malicious SQL code through the 'id' parameter, which is then executed in SQL queries without proper validation or sanitization. As a result, attackers could manipulate SQL queries to gain unauthorized access to the database, leak sensitive data, alter or delete information, and potentially disrupt services.
Impact
Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to unauthorized database access, allowing attackers to access, modify, or delete data. Additionally, there is a risk of leaking sensitive information and causing service interruptions.
Reproduction
The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a POST request to '/cts/classes/Zone.php?f=save' with an injected payload in the 'id' parameter. This can be done using a tool like sqlmap, which automates the process of finding and exploiting SQL injection vulnerabilities.
Remediation
To address this vulnerability, it is recommended to use prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection, validate and filter user input, minimize database user permissions, and conduct regular security audits.
