- <= 2.1.4
A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Pack Elementor addon for WordPress, affecting all versions through 2.1.4. The issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, allowing authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary scripts into pages. These scripts are executed when a user views the affected page.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.
To reproduce this vulnerability, an authenticated user with Contributor-level access or higher can inject scripts via the 'slider_options' parameter. This can be done by accessing the settings of a widget that uses this parameter and inserting a script into the 'slider_options' field. Once saved, the script will execute when the page is viewed.
Users are advised to update the Pack Elementor addon to version 2.1.5 or later.
