A cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability has been identified in OpenRapid RapidCMS version 1.3.1. The issue resides in the '/system/update-run.php' endpoint, where the 'version' GET parameter is not properly sanitized, allowing remote, unauthenticated attackers to inject malicious scripts. This vulnerability requires user interaction, as the crafted URL must be accessed by an authenticated administrator.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user's session.
To reproduce this vulnerability, a remote, unauthenticated attacker can create a URL that includes a malicious script in the 'version' GET parameter. When an authenticated administrator clicks on this URL, the script executes, taking advantage of the administrator's session.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
