A remote code execution vulnerability exists in Snipe-IT versions prior to 8.3.3. This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers to upload malicious backup files containing arbitrary files and execute system commands.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for remote code execution on the server where Snipe-IT is hosted.

Remediation

Users are advised to upgrade to Snipe-IT version 8.3.3 or later.
