Code-Projects Responsive Blog Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in Code-Projects Responsive Blog versions 1.0, 1.12.4, and 3.3.4. The issue resides in the 'pageViewMembers.php' file within the blog administration section. This vulnerability allows the injection of unsanitized user input, which is then executed when the member table is viewed by administrators. The flaw can be exploited remotely, but requires authentication and user interaction.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page. This could lead to session hijacking, unauthorized actions, or data exfiltration. Additionally, the presence of outdated Bootstrap and jQuery libraries could exacerbate the XSS risk.

Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, log into the admin panel and navigate to the 'pageViewMembers.php' page. Inject a script payload into one of the user profile fields, such as Full Name. Once the payload is saved, it will be executed when the page is accessed by an admin.
