- <= 3.7.0
A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Sina Extension for Elementor plugin, specifically in versions through 3.7.0. This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages. The issue arises in the 'Sina Posts', 'Sina Blog Post', and 'Sina Table' widgets, due to inadequate input sanitization and output escaping. The injected scripts are executed when users access the affected pages.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.
To reproduce this vulnerability, an authenticated user with Contributor-level access or higher can use the 'Sina Posts', 'Sina Blog Post', or 'Sina Table' widgets to inject scripts. The absence of proper input sanitization and output escaping in these widgets enables the injection of malicious scripts, which will be executed when the page is viewed.
Users are advised to update the Sina Extension for Elementor plugin to version 3.7.1 or later, where this vulnerability has been patched.
