A cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability has been identified in Wikimedia Foundation MediaWiki versions prior to 1.39.14, 1.43.4, and 1.44.1. This issue arises from improper input neutralization during web page generation, specifically in the program files includes/htmlform/CodexHTMLForm.php and includes/htmlform/fields/HTMLButtonField.php.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for cross-site scripting, where an attacker can inject malicious scripts that are executed in the context of the user's browser.
