Osom Blocks Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability for WordPress

Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Osom Blocks – Custom Post Type listing block plugin for WordPress. This issue affects all versions through 1.2.1 and arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping. The vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages, which are executed when users access the affected pages.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the Osom Blocks plugin to version 1.2.2 or a newer patched version.
