WeGIA Reflected Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability in listar_despachos.php Endpoint

Vulnerability

A reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the WeGIA application for charitable institutions, in versions prior to 3.4.11. The issue resides in the listar_despachos.php endpoint, where the id_memorando parameter is vulnerable to script injection. The application fails to properly validate and sanitize user inputs, allowing malicious scripts to be injected and executed in the context of the user's browser.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for reflected cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user's browser. This could lead to capturing login credentials, performing actions on behalf of the user, virtual defacement of the website, or redirecting the user to a competing site.

Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, send a GET request to the listar_despachos.php endpoint with a crafted id_memorando parameter that includes a malicious script payload. The lack of input validation will allow the script to be executed in the user's browser.

Remediation

Users can upgrade to WeGIA version 3.4.11 or later, where this vulnerability has been patched.
