QNAP File Station 5 Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

A cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability has been identified in QNAP File Station 5, specifically in versions 5.5.x. This vulnerability allows remote attackers with user account access to bypass security mechanisms or read application data.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for cross-site scripting, where an attacker can inject malicious scripts that are executed in the context of the user's browser.

Remediation

Users can update File Station 5 to version 5.5.6.5018 or later. To do this, log into QTS or QuTS hero as an administrator, open the App Center, search for 'File Station 5', and click 'Update'.
