A critical SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in PHPGurukul BP Monitoring Management System version 1.0. The issue arises in the file edit-family-member.php, where the memberage parameter is improperly validated, allowing attackers to inject malicious SQL queries. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely, potentially leading to unauthorized database access, data manipulation or deletion, and exposure of sensitive information.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for SQL injection, enabling attackers to interfere with the application's database queries. This could result in unauthorized data access, data manipulation or deletion, and in some cases, executing administrative operations on the database.
The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a POST request to edit-family-member.php with the memberage parameter. The request should include a crafted SQL payload that exploits the application's SQL query handling. This can be done using tools like sqlmap, which automates the process of finding and exploiting SQL injection vulnerabilities.
It is recommended to implement input validation and sanitization for the memberage parameter to prevent SQL injection. Additionally, using prepared statements with parameterized queries can help mitigate this vulnerability by separating SQL code from user input.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
