A stack overflow vulnerability has been identified in the Tenda G3 router, specifically in the firmware version G3V3.0br_V15.11.0.17. The issue arises in the ipMacBindListStore function, where the listStr parameter is processed without proper length validation. This flaw enables remote attackers to craft HTTP POST requests that overflow a stack-based buffer, potentially leading to a denial-of-service condition or arbitrary code execution.
Exploitation of this vulnerability causes a denial-of-service condition and could allow for remote code execution on the affected device.
The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending an HTTP POST request to the '/goform/addIpMacBind' endpoint with a crafted payload that includes a large amount of data (approximately 2000 bytes) in the 'IPMacBindRule' parameter. This payload size exceeds the buffer capacity, causing a stack overflow.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
