PHPGurukul Dairy Farm Shop Management System SQL Injection Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A critical SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in PHPGurukul Dairy Farm Shop Management System version 1.3. The issue resides in the '/profile.php' file, where the 'mobilenumber' parameter is manipulated, allowing attackers to inject malicious SQL queries. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely, with the injected SQL code executed by the database, potentially leading to unauthorized data access or modification.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows attackers to inject malicious SQL queries, bypassing authentication and authorization. This could lead to unauthorized access to the database, manipulation or deletion of data, and in some cases, executing commands on the server.

Reproduction

The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a POST request to '/dfsms/dfsms/profile.php' with the 'mobilenumber' parameter. The injected SQL payload can be crafted to exploit the time-based blind SQL injection, using a payload that, for example, includes a SQL injection that causes the database to pause execution for a few seconds, indicating that the injection was successful.

Remediation

To address this vulnerability, it is recommended to implement prepared statements and parameter binding to separate SQL code from user input, conduct thorough input validation and filtering, and minimize database user permissions.
