A critical SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in PHPGurukul Dairy Farm Shop Management System version 1.3. The issue resides in the '/add-company.php' file, where the 'companyname' parameter is manipulated to inject malicious SQL queries. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely, allowing attackers to access and manipulate the database without authorization.
Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to unauthorized database access, allowing attackers to modify or delete data, access sensitive information, and potentially disrupt services.
The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a POST request to '/add-company.php' with the 'companyname' parameter. The injected SQL payload can be crafted to exploit the application's database query handling, such as by using time-based blind SQL injection techniques.
To address this vulnerability, it is recommended to implement prepared statements and parameter binding to separate SQL code from user input. Additionally, input validation and filtering should be applied to ensure that data conforms to expected formats, blocking malicious input. Finally, database user permissions should be minimized, ensuring that the account used for database connections has only the necessary privileges.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
