A reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Social Sharing Plugin - Sassy Social Share for WordPress. This issue affects all versions through 3.3.75 and arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping. The vulnerability allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages, which could be executed if a user is tricked into interacting with a link.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for reflected cross-site scripting, where an attacker can inject malicious scripts that are executed in the context of the user's browser.

Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, send a request to a page with the 'heateor_mastodon_share' parameter. The injected script will be executed if the user clicks on the link.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the Social Sharing Plugin - Sassy Social Share to version 3.3.76 or later.
