Veeam Backup and Replication Remote Code Execution Vulnerability for Backup and Tape Operators

Vulnerability

A remote code execution vulnerability has been identified in Veeam Backup & Replication version 13.0.1.180 and all earlier version 13 builds. This vulnerability allows a Backup or Tape Operator to execute code remotely as the root user by creating a malicious backup configuration file.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for remote code execution as the root user.

Remediation

Users can upgrade to Veeam Backup & Replication version 13.0.1.1071 to address this vulnerability.
