A cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability has been identified in the Joomla! CMS within the input filter framework. This issue arises from inadequate content filtering in the checkAttribute method, which could be exploited to inject malicious scripts. The vulnerability affects Joomla! CMS versions 3.0.0 through 3.10.20-elts, 4.0.0 through 4.4.13, and 5.0.0 through 5.3.3.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for cross-site scripting, where an attacker can inject malicious scripts that are executed in the context of the user's browser.
Users are advised to upgrade to Joomla! CMS version 4.4.14 or 5.3.4.
