QuanticaLabs MediCenter PHP Object Injection Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A deserialization vulnerability allowing object injection has been identified in the QuanticaLabs MediCenter WordPress theme, specifically in versions through 15.1. This vulnerability arises from the improper handling of untrusted data, which could potentially be exploited to execute arbitrary code, inject malicious SQL, traverse file paths, cause denial-of-service conditions, and more, provided a suitable payload injection chain is available.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to PHP object injection, allowing for a range of attacks including code execution, SQL injection, path traversal, and denial-of-service, depending on the presence of a proper payload injection chain.

Remediation

Users are advised to update to version 15.2 or later. Patchstack has also issued a virtual patch to block attacks targeting this vulnerability until users can update.
