Campcodes Online Hospital Management System SQL Injection Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A critical SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in Campcodes Online Hospital Management System version 1.0. The issue resides in the '/hms/appointment-history.php' file, where the 'id' parameter is manipulated to inject malicious SQL queries. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely, allowing attackers to gain unauthorized access to the database, leak sensitive data, tamper with information, and potentially disrupt services.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for unauthorized database access, leakage of sensitive information, data manipulation, and could lead to a complete compromise of the system, including interruption of services.

Reproduction

The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a crafted HTTP request to the 'appointment-history.php' file with a malicious payload in the 'id' parameter. This payload should be designed to exploit time-based blind SQL injection, such as using a SQL injection payload that includes a time delay command, like 'SLEEP', to demonstrate the injection's effectiveness.

Remediation

To address this vulnerability, it is recommended to use prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection, validate and filter user input, minimize database user permissions, and conduct regular security audits.
