OpenNMS Horizon and Meridian Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in OpenNMS Horizon versions 33.0.8 and earlier, as well as in Meridian versions prior to 2024.2.6. This vulnerability allows an attacker to inject and store unsanitized HTML or JavaScript in the database, which is later executed on the page. The issue has been reported on multiple platforms.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Remediation

Users are advised to upgrade to OpenNMS Horizon versions 33.1.6 or 33.1.7, or to Meridian versions 2024.2.6 or 2024.2.7.
