Frappe Password Reset Token Leakage Vulnerability Allowing Account Takeover

Vulnerability

A vulnerability in the Frappe web application framework prior to versions 14.94.3 and 15.58.0 allows a malicious actor to access a user's password reset token. This issue affects self-hosted instances configured in a specific way, while Frappe Cloud users are not vulnerable. The vulnerability has been patched in versions 14.94.3 and 15.58.0.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to unauthorized access to a user's account by allowing an attacker to reset the user's password.

Remediation

Users can verify password reset URLs before clicking on them. For self-hosted users, upgrading to Frappe version 14.94.3 or 15.58.0 is recommended.
