WordPress RealtyElite Theme Local File Inclusion Vulnerability
Vulnerability
A local file inclusion vulnerability has been identified in the WordPress RealtyElite theme, affecting versions through 1.0.0. This vulnerability arises from improper control of filenames in include or require statements, allowing PHP remote file inclusion.
Impact
Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to local file inclusion, allowing attackers to include and execute files from the server. This could potentially be used to access sensitive information, such as database credentials, and could lead to a complete takeover of the database, depending on the configuration.
Remediation
Users are advised to update to a version of the RealtyElite theme that is later than 1.0.0. Patchstack has issued a virtual patch to mitigate this vulnerability for users who cannot update immediately.
