A critical SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in PHPGurukul Employee Record Management System version 1.3. The issue resides in the loginerms.php file, where the Email parameter is manipulated to inject malicious SQL queries. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely without authentication, allowing attackers to access, modify, or delete database information.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for unauthorized database access, manipulation of data, and potential disruption of services.
The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a POST request to the /erms/loginerms.php endpoint. The request must include an injected payload in the Email parameter that exploits the SQL injection flaw, such as a time-based blind SQL injection payload that uses the SQL SLEEP function.
It is recommended to implement prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection, validate and filter user input, and minimize database user permissions.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
